My Story

Screen%20Shot%202019-12-09%20at%205.34_e

My greatest joy and purpose in life is to empower people to step into their strength, courage, self-love, and infinite potential.  I truly believe that each one of us is a soul having a human experience, and that we were all sent to this planet to fulfill our divine calling.  Each one of us is uniquely special, and we are all worthy of experiencing true joy and fulfillment. My job is to simply help you see all that already lies within you, and help you learn how to master the darkness.

I know how to navigate through the darkness by having walked through it myself. At a young age, trauma began shaping the way I saw myself and the world around me, and continued to do so as I grew into my twenties.  It made me become a person I couldn't recognize and someone I didn't like.  My trauma took many forms: emotional abuse during my early childhood by a mentally ill family member; witnessing the devastating 9/11 terrorist attacks firsthand; severe bullying throughout my childhood and teenage years; multiple sexual assaults during college; and later, a car accident that nearly took my life.  I couldn't understand or process the posttraumatic stress I had experienced, so I turned my rage, my confusion, my anxiety, my grief, and my shame towards myself.  I made myself the enemy and proceeded down a path of self-sabotage and self-harm, until I reached a point where I decided enough was enough.

My journey towards integration and healing hasn't been easy or linear.  There have been many times throughout my self-healing process that the darkness has come back and reared it's ugly head.  Where it's sabotaged relationships and tried to turn me against myself again.  But the difference is that now I have the tools to fight against it and win. I've taken my fear and turned it into unwavering faith and courage, and I have completely transformed the way I live and feel.

Today, I hold a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, I am a Holistic Life Coach, a trauma healer, a loving partner, an avid meditator, and a kick-ass dog mom -- Oh yeah, and I started my own successful business from scratch, based on my experience working as a trauma psychotherapist!  I am also a certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction teacher, a meditation teacher, and an equine-assisted therapy specialist, as well as an advocate for women and the differently-abled.

I believe in change. I believe that we don't have to be the same person we were yesterday, or even an hour ago. I believe that we don't have to subscribe to the same negative stories and beliefs that we've been telling ourselves our entire lives. I believe that we all have the ability to heal and thrive if we are given the tools and the right lightworker to help guide us through the process. And more than anything, I believe in YOU.

Take the leap, get the guidance you need, and watch your entire life completely change.

I'm excited to work with you!

Ten Things I Believe About Coaching

1. Everyone has the ability to change, even though it can feel really scary.

2. You already possess within you all of the answers and wisdom to live your best life. My job is to support you in unearthing that magic.

3. You are not a diagnosis or an emotional state, and talking only about your past hinders you from focusing on cultivating a happier future.  This is one of the reasons I shifted from Psychotherapy to Coaching.

4. It often feels worse before it feels better.

5. You have to show up for it to work. Coaching is a self-care ritual, and consistency is key- even when you don’t think you have anything to talk about or you don’t want to go: resistance is often a sign that a breakthrough is on the horizon!

6. Vulnerability and empathy take immense courage, but they are the keys to healing and stepping into your true power.

7. Don’t like something I said? Angry at something that happened between us in session or otherwise? Tell me! I want you to talk about how our relationship impacts you! Most of us never learned how to intentionally and lovingly repair conflicts, and I want our relationship to be a place where it's safe to express ALL feelings.

8. Talking about our problems and analyzing their roots are powerful ways to gain insight, but in order to encourage real change, you have to create an actionable plan from that insight and work on it every single day.

9. I'm a personal development coach because I'm on this journey of healing and self-improvement as well!  Where I am now is eons away from where I started on my self-healing journey, and I promise that you too can find your way back home to your intuition and your authentic self. Also, I have my own coach! Even coaches have coaches!

10. I am consistently amazed by the resiliency of the human spirit.  Seeing it in my clients both humbles me, and reminds me that we can conquer anything with the right tools and mindset.
